| "Aged Ivory" finish is a multi-step hand applied finish designed to replicate the look of an antique "man's chest". It has five different colors in it and includes some distressing and antique details to make it seem like it just arrived from the antique store. "Dry-brushing" is used to darken some of the hand carved details such as the acanthus leaves. The benefit of the antique finish is that as the consumer uses the chest if they should happen to nick or damage the finish while cleaning or moving it that they can easily repair the spot by just using s simple touch-up pen and rubbing it into the finish. It will disappear into the antique look. This design is a Mediterranean style and includes large carved toes on the front feet of the chest. The finish color is meant to simulate the look of parchment. This is a common coloration of the original designs. The hardware is a metal ring style tassel hardware that uses the same antique finish and is highlighted in the same fashion. The top is black marble that is quarried in Southern China. It has many of the same properties of Italian marble that would have been used on the original designs. It has a protective polyurethane top coat to minimize the potential for staining. The chest is constructed of MDF and cast resin appliques. The MDF is used because of its properties to minimize the potential for finish delamination. The drawers have a painted interior finish and are also made of MDF. The top is attached using a binary glue so that if a consumer tries to lift it by the top it should not tear off.
